What Does this hysterosalpingogram Test Result Mean?
i am 33 year old.my hsg digital report is:- 1-uterine cavity outlined by the contrast appears to normal in size, capacity and symmetrical in shape. 2-no avidence of any filling defect is noted. 3-bilateral cornu is normally visualized. 4-right fallopian tube is normal in caliber.no evidence of any dilatation is noted. 5-proximal part of left fallopian tube is seen. 6-minimal peritoneal spill of contrast is noted from right side. please give me your advise. thanks
Hello, thanks for writing to HCM. The HSG report states- - Normal uterine cavity - Right tube appears normal with spill- indicates patency. - Left fallopian tube is not seen entirely, with no mention of a spill on that side- possibly a proximal tubal obstruction due to inflammation/mucus plugs/infection/adhesions etc.
Though a single functioning tube can also be adequate for pregnancy, You need to discuss this with your doctor, to look at this report along with your medical history and decide next step of management. A laproscopic procedure is usually done as a definitive test.
Hope i have helped you with your query. You can write in again with any doubts. All the best.
